On December 1st,the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University successfully held the "Hanfu Experience Day" event. The event is also a part of China Day Cultural Festival of Xiamen University. It attracted many students and Chinese language enthusiasts to attend.

The teacher of the Confucius Institute provided a detailed introduction to the origins, development, and evolution of Hanfu to the attending students, showcasing representative garments from various dynasties. The exquisite embroidery and meticulous tailoring allowed the students to intuitively appreciate the craftsmanship of Hanfu artisans, as well as the diversity and refined beauty of Hanfu itself. The event included a Hanfu wearing competition and a quick answer session on Hanfu knowledge, where students eagerly participated, engaging actively in the interactive activities. They learned through play and found joy in the process. By donning beautiful Hanfu and practicing traditional etiquette through bowing with hands folded in front, students understood the rich connotations and spirit of etiquette inherent in Chinese traditional culture, realizing that Hanfu is not merely a type of clothing but a cultural symbol that conveys a pursuit of beauty and propriety.

The highlight of the event was a captivating Tai Chi fan performance. The teacher and the three students presented a Tai Chi fan performance, dressed in Tai Chi attire and wielding Tai Chi fans, moving gracefully to melodious music. Their fluid movements, embodying both strength and gentleness, garnered enthusiastic applause. As a part of traditional Chinese martial arts, the Tai Chi fan combines the power of martial arts with the beauty of dance, serving not only as a means of physical exercise but also as a symbol of Chinese culture, conveying the ideals of harmony and balance.

The "Hanfu Experience Day" not only allowed students to appreciate the beauty and charm of Hanfu but also deepened their understanding of the unique essence and profound depth of Chinese traditional culture. In the future, the Confucius Institute will continue to dedicate itself to organizing a variety of cultural activities, enabling Turkish university students to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese culture, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between China and Türkiye.
