On October 1, 2019, we celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China by singing Chinese songs together with our Chinese teachers and METU students.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2019, CHINESE EMBASSY RECEPTION FOR THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
On September 26, 2019, METU Confucius Institute Co-Directors Prof. Dr. Şirin Saraçoğlu and Prof. Dr. Du Yun attended the Reception by the Chinese Embassy at Ankara for the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
SEPTEMBER 6-16, 2019, METU EDUCATORS DELEGATION TO CHINA
On September 6-16, 2019, a delegation of educators from METU visited Chinese universities to establish and strengthen exchange and collaboration opportunities. The Delegation included Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zeyrek, METU Vice-President, Prof. Dr. Özgül Yılmaz-Tüzün, Dean of Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Yavuz Yaman, Faculty Member at Department of Aerospace Engineering, Prof. Dr. Müge Akkar-Ercan, Faculty Member at Department of City and Regional Planning, Prof. Dr. Şirin Saraçoğlu, Co-Director of METU Confucius Institute and Faculty Member at Department of Economics, and Prof. Dr. Du Yun, Co-Director of METU Confucius Institute. The Delegation visited Peking University, Renmin University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Xiamen University. The Delegation was also hosted by the Hanban Headquarters in Beijing by the Deputy Chief Executive Mr. Yu Yunfeng, and the Southern Base of the Confucius Institute Headquarters in Xiamen University by the Director Mr. Tongwen Mao.
August 26, 2019 Beijing University visited METU Confucius Institute
On August 26, 2019, with the leadership of Deputy Dean Prof. Dr. Fu Zhiming, a delegation of professors and students from Beijing University School of Foreign Languages paid a visit to METU Confucius Institute. During the visit, activities of our Institute were introduced, and possibilities of collaboration and exchange were discussed. Under the organization of METU International Cooperations Office, at METU-KKM, a series of seminars were held by Prof. Dr. Müge Akkar Ercan, Member of City and Regional Planning Department and Member of Confucius Institute Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Şirin Saracoğlu, Co-Director of METU Confucius Institute, and Dr. Onur Bahçecik, Chair of the Asian Studies Program at METU.
2 May 2019 - Chinese Bridge Competition
We have successfully completed the 18th Chinese Bridge Competition on May 2nd 2019 at METU Culture and Convention Center. We thank all the participants and wish all the success to the winners.
