On May 25, 2024, the Final of Türkiye Preliminary Round of the 17th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students was held in Ankara. The event was hosted by the Embassy of People's Republic of China in the Republic of Türkiye and organized by Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University.

After a series of preliminary selection and preliminary contest, 15 students from five secondary schools in different regions, including Ayrancı Anadolu Lisesi, Ankara Atatürk Lisesi, Kavaklıdere Ortaokulu, Şehit Mehmet Güder Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi and Bitlis Özel Eren Fen ve Teknoloji Lisesi, participated in the Final.

The theme of this competition was "Pursuing Dreams in Chinese, Embracing Youth". The Final consisted of keynote speeches and talent shows. After a fierce competition, Elif Azra Gül from Ankara Atatürk Lisesi, a cooperative school of Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University, was crowned the champion, and will represent Türkiye in the Global Finals of the 17th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students.
