On October 3rd local time, the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University (METU CI) successfully held an online information session on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship and the Xiamen University Scholarship for the 2025 Fall Semester. The session was delivered by the Confucius Institute's volunteer student Ayperi Öztürk, and was simultaneously attended by students from nine universities and Chinese language institutions in Türkiye.

The participating universities and institutions included Middle East Technical University, Ankara University, Hacı Bayram Veli University, Bilkent University, Social Sciences University of Ankara, Istanbul University, Erciyes University, Nevşehir University, and the Turkish–Chinese Cultural Association. A total of 180 students joined the online event.

During the session, Ayperi Öztürk provided a detailed introduction to the eligibility requirements, scholarship categories, and application procedures of the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, with a particular focus on the Xiamen University One-Semester Study Program (2026 Spring Semester). In the interactive segment, she answered participants' questions regarding studying in China, the scholarship application process, and campus life in China. Drawing on her own ongoing study experience in China, Ayperi shared vivid insights into her academic journey and cultural immersion, encouraging more students to pursue their dreams and experience the charm of Chinese culture firsthand.

This information session served as an important platform for Turkish university students to learn about study opportunities in China, further inspiring their enthusiasm for learning Chinese and deepening educational and cultural exchanges between China and Türkiye.

Looking ahead, METU CI will continue to provide diverse learning and exchange opportunities for students from universities in Türkiye, actively building bridges of communication between Chinese and Turkish youth.
