On April 29, 2026 , the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University (METU) organized a Chinese knot workshop at Bilkent University, in collaboration with local Chinese instructor Huang Shihuai (Duygu Sarıkaya İrim), as part of a cultural activity.

During the workshop, Yuan Peiyun introduced the historical background and cultural significance of Chinese knots and guided participants through basic knotting techniques using visual demonstrations. Huang Shihuai further led a bracelet-making session integrating Chinese knotting elements, with students completing their own handmade works through hands-on practice.

Students from diverse academic backgrounds, including political science and architecture, actively participated in the activity. The workshop created an interactive and engaging learning environment.

This event is part of ongoing cooperation between METU Confucius Institute and Bilkent University, following previous workshops on Chinese tea art and calligraphy, and aimed to further promote cultural exchange between China and Türkiye.
