METU Confucius Institute Hosts 2025 Spring Semester "International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship" and "Xiamen University Scholarship" Lecture
To further promote Chinese language education and expand opportunities for Turkish students to pursue advanced studies in China, the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University (METU) successfully held a series of themed lectures on the 2025 Spring Semester "International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship" and the "Xiamen University Scholarship" from April 7 to 11 (local time).
The lectures were presented by Ayperi Öztürk, a student volunteer at the METU Confucius Institute. In-person presentations were held at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, METU, and Ankara University. Additionally, online lecture was conducted for students from Nevşehir University, Erciyes University, and METU's Northern Cyprus Campus, thereby expanding the outreach and impact of the event.
During the lectures, Ayperi Öztürk gave clear and detailed explanations in Turkish, covering the scholarship categories, funding details, application procedures, key timelines, and important application tips for both the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship and the Xiamen University Scholarship. She placed special emphasis on the preparation of application materials and key points in the eligibility review process.
Drawing on her personal experience of a short-term summer program at Xiamen University in 2023, Ayperi introduced the university from the perspective of "one person, one city, one university." She vividly shared her impressions of the beautiful campus, world-class academic resources, and vibrant campus life, which sparked great interest and admiration among the students.
The content of the lectures was informative and highly practical, addressing students' questions and greatly boosting their enthusiasm for studying in China. During the interactive segment, students actively raised questions and engaged in lively discussions on topics such as eligibility requirements, scholarship coverage, and life in China. Ayperi patiently answered each question in detail, earning wide praise from the audience. The lectures concluded in a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Many students commented afterward that the lectures gave them a much clearer understanding of China's scholarship policies and strengthened their determination to study in China and improve their academic skills. They expressed hope that through hard work, they could secure an ideal scholarship and embark on a new learning journey in China.
These lectures not only provided Turkish students with valuable study-abroad information but also built a solid platform for deeper cooperation between the METU Confucius Institute and multiple universities. Looking ahead, the METU Confucius Institute will continue to play a bridging role and promote further educational exchange between China and Turkey.
