On March 8 (local time), the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University (METU) successfully held an online information session on Chinese scholarships for the Spring 2026 semester. The event introduced study opportunities and scholarship programs in China to Chinese language learners from universities across Türkiye.
The session focused mainly on the Chinese Government Scholarship, the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, and the Xiamen University Scholarship. Conducted online, the session was simultaneously open to participants from 11 universities in Türkiye, attracting a total of 160 students. Students from different institutions actively participated in discussions through the online platform, demonstrating the strong interest of Chinese language learners in Türkiye in studying in China.
This information session provided an important platform for Turkish students to gain a deeper understanding of China’s scholarship policies and pathways to study in China. It also further strengthened educational and cultural exchanges between China and Türkiye. In the future, the Confucius Institute at METU will continue to organize similar activities to help more Turkish students learn about China and experience it firsthand, thereby promoting educational cooperation and youth exchanges between the two countries.
